Examination Outcomes:

Annual Resident In-Service Exam (RISE):

On the 2012 Annual Resident In-Service Exam (RISE), our residents scored in the top 15% of the country (overall percentile for our program, compared to all other Pathology programs in the country: 85th percentile). 17% of our residents scored at the 99th percentile and 58% scored at the 90th percentile or greater.

American Board of Pathology Licensing Examination:

The first-time pass rate over the past 5 years for our residents taking the American Board of Pathology board examination for Anatomic Pathology is 885 (national average: 86%). The first-time pass rate for our residents taking the American Board of Pathology board examination for Clinical Pathology is 82% (national average: 80%).

Residents graduating from this program have been well prepared to pursue their career goals, whether that be fellowship training in subspecialty areas or practice in either an academic or community setting. Our residents are successful in passing the American Board of Pathology certifying exams, with our pass rates mirroring that of the national average. Our residents' performance on the annual Resident In-Service Training Examination (RISE) has been exceptional and is well above the national average. In 2012, our program scored at the 85th percentile, when ranking all participating programs in the entire country.
