Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency

The Obstetrics and Gynecology residency is a four-year, 24-resident program fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Six first-year postgraduate positions are offered each year through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applications for the program are accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

The residency is designed to meet all educational requirements expected of ACGME-approved programs and to prepare its graduates for eventual certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) through its written and oral certifying examinations.

As one of the leading OB/GYN departments in Michigan and the Midwest, its physicians do nearly 7,000 deliveries and over 9,000 gynecologic surgical procedures each year. Through its medical student programs, the department has formal academic affiliations with the University of Michigan, Wayne State University and William Beaumont Oakland University Schools of Medicine. Beaumont Hospital is also designated as a regional center for neonatal intensive care and as a tertiary care perinatal and genetics center.
